Every flower tells a story worth celebrating
Through preserved floral art and botanical drawings, I hope to awaken appreciation for nature's complete story and create heirloom pieces that remind us true beauty lives on when captured with artistic vision.
Hi, I’m Melody
Based in Nashville, TN, my work as an artist started when I was old enough to hold a crayon. I’ve always been happiest while creating. My mind works overtime, and I see things around me that most people miss. It can be exhausting, but I’ve learned to gleam the benefits of creativity and wonder.
Throughout my career, I have experimented with various mediums and found that I love mixing it up. I’m constantly trying something new.
I’m told that my drawings evoke curiosity and wonder. By drawing them with fine details, I can express my respect for the life cycle of nature, from a mere bud, throughout the process of transitioning to decay. I love using the local trees and plants as subjects.
Adding preserved florals to the mix seemed like a natural fit. I scour the roadsides for seasonal materials and many that I use are from my own gardens. Although there are various ways to press, I prefer to use the traditional old fashioned flower press to preserve them for lasting memories.
Along with my art, I also preserve wedding bouquets and other florals by turning the flowers and greenery into a piece of art that creates everlasting memories.
My work has been published in Flower Magazine, Southern Living and in several galleries and boutiques throughout the South. I am often selected to participate in Art Shows both locally and throughout the Southeast. These include The Harding Art Show, The MBA Art Show and several others.
It is my wish that my work brings you joy, happiness, and wonder.

Custom Orders & Commissions
Yes! I love creating custom pieces. Whether it's a specific botanical subject, cloudscape, or unique floral preservation request, I'm happy to discuss your vision. Learn More
The preservation process typically takes 4-6 weeks from the time I receive your flowers. This allows proper drying time and careful artistic arrangement. I'll keep you updated throughout the process so you know exactly where your piece is in its journey.
Flowers like pansies, violas, daisies, lavender, baby's breath, and Queen Anne's lace preserve beautifully. Bulkier blooms like roses, peonies, and hydrangeas require special manipulation—I press each petal separately and reconstruct them. When I receive your bouquet, we'll discuss which flowers will work best for your piece.
With proper care and display conditions, preserved floral art can last decades. Many antique pressed flower collections are over 100 years old! The key is keeping them out of direct sunlight and humidity.
